Risk-Taking It

Risk...Taking It
You are a balance of fear and euphoria
You are my dancing partner with the unknown
You're my best personal trainer of necessary muscles: courage, strength, grit, confidence, creativity, and faith
You crush my ego effortlessly-thank you
You create a place for self discovery
You make me come to my knees at times and surrender
There's no one quite like you
I always seem to welcome you, but often question why
I guess I kinda love you
Damn

G as a red marshmallow and poetry writer....kidding or not.... actually I've been thinking about risk lately. I can confidently call myself a "risk taker". Not just up high like here on Everest, but in how I live my life. So about Risk...I've been craving writing so here we go. Risk...Taking It You are a balance of fear and euphoria You are my dancing partner with the unknown You're my best personal trainer of necessary muscles: courage, strength, grit, confidence, creativity, and faith You crush my ego effortlessly-thank you You create a place for self discovery You make me come to my knees at times and surrender There's no one quite like you I always seem to welcome you, but often question why I guess I kinda love you Damn This pic is me at the top of Everest 2013. I had had a failed attempt in 2011 having to turn around due to hypoxia (when your body thinks its suffocating) when I collapsed and it was easy to see I needed to come back another day. So I did and so many times I was scared that the same thing would happen and that I would fail or worst not make it back. As an entrepreneur, I've risked my life stability many times. It comes with the territory. You have to bounce back from failure continuously, and know when to make the tough calls to call it quits or maybe take a step back and try again. In not settling for a conventional life you take risks as well, moving, leaving everything you know behind, for that thing in your heart that keeps tugging at you and you owe it to yourself to never ignore. So risk-you've made me a better woman, friend, lover, liver of life. I'm grateful and still on a wild ride, just not on top of a wild mountain at the moment. #sheventures
