The Roof of Africa's Disappearing Glaciers- Watch the Film
Tough Girl Challenge Podcast
In June 2018 I set off with Explorer Tim Jarvis and team to climb and document the sublimating glacier on Africa's Rooftop, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
"Just like a mountain is really big and daunting, I think climate change can seem daunting and a big problem to solve. The reality is if all of us take little steps and make little changes in our lives, we will all make a collective difference." - Georgina Miranda.
The question is, what else are we prepared to lose? There is no Planet B.
Changing Narratives-On She Goes Podcast
Hear my story, the challenges and the victories over the past decade and why I do what I do and why I am a champion for women around the world.
The Power of Breath Sea or Sky
I had the honor of being on the On She Goes Podcast in November. On She Goes is a digital travel platform that helps women of color travel more confidently, more adventurously, and more often.
We had a dynamic conversation on how a Latina girl from LA somehow found herself climbing the world's highest peaks, starting from zero when not being able to run a mile, using my voice for activism, and the diversity that is still needed in the adventure space.

My breath. Something that most of my life I took for granted in a sense. Yes, grateful each day to breathe and be alive, but never really realizing the power it has had in my life or the magic it could deliver. Breath is life and freedom and love and salvation all in one. Breath is an incredible instrument for healing and growth if we give time to cultivate the concentrated practice of it.
So Here I Am
Super grateful to Gale Straub of She Explores for featuring me on her podcast!

Our Greatest Adventure
Written for She Ventures May 2018. The time leading up to those events was a deep period of transition and transformation for me that started back in October 2017. Life took a lot of twists and turns, some expected and some not so. If I am honest though, the past 10 years have been a period of transition, transformation, and reinvention to shaping me into the woman I am today.
Leiden Half Marathon-Holland
What is our greatest adventure? We are living it, right now, today, as we speak...it's called life.
My relationship with the word "adventure" has changed over the years. It's no longer just the act of being on an actual adventure, but a way of life. Adventure is of mind, body, and spirit elevated and expanded to new potentials within ourselves.
Replenishing Mind. Body. Spirit- Joshua Tree
No better way to get to know a new place than run through it! Leiden Half Marathon goodness today! I do it for the smiles and the solid good leg burn ...oh and the beer at the end (photo included) 😉🍺
Solitude + Stillness
Energy: I'm definitely an extrovert and LOVE people and community BUT as much as I put out, more and more I need to replenish.
Movement and Ritual
I can thank entrepreneurship for helping me appreciate quiet moments. As a founder, life can seem like a crazy roller coaster jumping off one ride onto the next. Constant calls, meetings, being on the road, often times lack of consistency or stability-whew it can wear you out. When you actually just get a moment with yourself, it's a little treasure.
G'S 37 FOR 37 BIRTHDAY RUN/HIKE!
Movement has been a necessary ritual in my life for over a decade. What that looks like varies day to day. Turns out movement is the ultimate emotional boost! Having a bad day, feeling depressed, feeling anxious? Move your body even for 20 minutes...those awful feelings start to melt away.
Join me in spirit and in sharing some love on Valentine's Day as I run/hike 37 mi (turned out to be 40 miles total when finished) in Portland,OR via the Wildwood Trail (30.2 mi) and the city (7 mi) and support some wonderful organizations along the way!
When Women Lead- My Truths
So risk-you've made me a better woman, friend, lover, liver of life. I'm grateful and still on a wild ride, just not on top of a wild mountain at the moment.
Filling Your Heart Instead of Your Pocket
Speak Your Truth| As I shared at She Ventures Denver Thursday, in 2007 I came to some realizations that would change the direction my life would take the next decade.
The Solo Traveler
Life is a series of choices, a journey and not a destination. When is the last time you made a major life decision/choice based on whether it would bring you joy? If you are like me, about August this past year I came to the shocking realization that the answer for me was never. All of my major life choices had been made around having purpose, life fulfillment, life bucket lists, accomplishments, but never joy.
There have been a lot of moments the past 4 days on my scooter riding on desolate and very dodgy roads, swimming in the sea with no one else there but me, or hiking down trails that warned people the "trail was broken" when I kept looking around and saying out loud, "thank you, thank you, thank you!"
She Ventures Takes New Life 2018
I walked down the stone steps and arrived here. Looking out, smiling, perfectly imperfect, realizing how a series of wrong turns can still help you arrive to beautiful destinations not only literally, but within your heart.
Transition. Change. New Beginings
And so a new adventure begins! She Ventures' new site is live and a big year lies ahead to celebrate and ignite adventure as a way of life for women around the world! Our event series and platform is a movement and vibrant testimony that women can be anything we want to be.

And so it's time for an adventure! When life has been screaming at you to make a change, you have a choice-to listen, or keep on the same path knowing in your heart it's wrong.
At the end of September I gave away 80% of my things (don't worry the 20% is my gear 🙂), got rid of my rent controlled SF apartment with an amazing view, and spent the last month on the couches of many dear friends as I traveled around the country to bring She Ventures to life alongside some amazing women that are game changers and living their truth to bring adventure, wellness, and community to the world around them.
Now more than ever, many young women are stepping out of their comfort zones — and into nature — to find solace and healing. According to a 2017 national studycommissioned by REI on women and the outdoors, more than 85 percent of women believe that being in nature has had a positive effect on their mental and physical health.
