Georgina MIranda

Amsterdam/Los Angeles

Choosing adventure and going beyond your limits—self-imposed, familial, or societal—allows you to change the narrative of who you are. Getting out of your comfort zone in nature allows you to think bigger and bolder in all areas of your life and I want every woman, young and old, to experience that.

Mt. Everest 2013

Georgina successfully reached the summit in 2013 after a second attempt (2011). She is in the process of completing the Explorer Grand Slam, a feat which less than 60 people globally have completed. (less than 15 women) When Georgina started this personal challenge, she could barely run a mile in 2007.

Home

Georgina currently calls Amsterdam and Los Angeles home, but considers herself  a global citizen. Her life and commitments keep her on the move! Training her mind has always been as equally important as training her body. She regularly practices meditation and yoga, is a certified reiki practiioner, and taken a strong interest in mindfulness teachings.

Entrepreneurship

Georgina often says the biggest mountain she has ever climbed is not Everest, but rather starting her own business. In 2017, she completed the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center's Milestone Makers Program. Here she is featured in Times Square April 2017 with her previous startup Altitude Seven, which merged with She Ventures in late 2017.

— Georgina Miranda

Georgina is a social entrepreneur, adventurer, consultant, speaker, and activist combining over a decade of Corporate, Start-up, and Adventure experience.

She is the founder and CEO of She Ventures, a social enterprise with an event series and media platform that celebrates and ignites adventure as a way of life for women around the world. Her work elevates the presence of female leadership and entrepreneurship across adventure travel, health and wellness, and outdoor experiences, creating inspiration, community, and sparking adventure along the way. It is spreading the global message for women to #ChooseAdventure as a way of life.

Georgina's career spans from leading teams in the corporate world, to founding start-ups, to management consulting at various Fortune 500 companies globally. She's advised CEOs, entrepreneurs, and up and coming leaders around the globe.

Her heart lies in adventure and it has led her to scale 6 of the 7 Summits (highest peak on each continent), including Mt. Everest and many other peaks around the world to raise awareness around gender-based violence. She is currently in the process of completing the Explorer Grand Slam (8 Summits + 2 Poles). A feat which less than 60 people globally have completed, of which only 14 are women. She hopes to be the 5th American woman.  (Read her full story and how she got started).

Although Georgina did not discover her love for the outdoors until her mid-twenties, she credits the mountains and a life of adventure to shaping who she is today. Prior to diving in to the world of adventure, she could barely run a mile. Her mission now is to share the gift of adventure with others. Adventure goes beyond the actual activity-adventure is of mind, body, spirit elevated and expanded to new potentials within ourselves.

Georgina is passionate about supporting other women entrepreneurs and leaders along with developing partnerships to empower women globally. She firmly believes that women are the world's largest untapped resource and that given the proper resources and equal opportunities, women can change the world. She's also an advocate for raising awareness around climate change, as her adventures have taken her to some of the most magical and also fragile places on earth. She deeply believes in preserving the gifts Mother Earth gave us.

As a Latina born in Los Angeles to Nicaraguan and El Salvadorian parents, she also believes in boosting diversity of women and minorities across all industries in leadership roles and beyond. She might be considered your unlikely adventurer, but she is proof that adventure is for everyone and that it changes lives. Adventure has been her confirmation of her life motto: The extraordinary is always possible, never limit yourself or life's potential.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) with a minor in Biology and Chemistry from the University of San Diego, and a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Loyola Marymount University.  She also studied at University of Rome Tor Vergata and is a certified Reiki Practioner.
